What can you find in our Library?

We have a vast collection of fiction books, shelved by genre and then alphabetically. They are situated around the back walls of the Library.

The Library is a quiet place to study, and we welcome all students to work in their free time.

Want to borrow a book?

All students can borrow three books and must be checked out before leaving the Library. Feel free to keep these books for up to 3 weeks, when you may either return the book or renew it for another three weeks.

Online Reading

Also, why not visit your local Library? You can get a membership card for Southampton City Libraries online, and it’s free and open to all. You can also sign up at any branch by presenting proof of your name and current address.

Need somewhere to go at break and lunch?

We are lucky to have such ample space, so we continue to offer a space to play board games, socialise, read and relax between lessons.

Breakfast Club

Missed breakfast or just got to school really early?

Join us for Breakfast Club!

Breakfast club runs every morning from 7.45am to 8.30am.

It is free and open to everybody!

Need a place to do your homework? Come along to our Homework Club every day from 2:45 – 3:45pm!

Within the Library, we have 15 networked computers connected to a laser printer. Students are welcome to use these computers to complete their homework and print work needed for their studies. Snacks are provided if you get hungry or thirsty whilst you complete your studies and to keep your brain working.

Read2

Read2 takes place in the Library every Thursday during tutor times where year 9 pupils encourage year 7 and 8 pupils to read with them. Year 9 pupils mentor the students to help them gain confidence in their reading and help them select suitable books for their reading ability and interests. We hope this scheme will help our students improve their reading ages to allow them to access the texts they are expected to read at the GCSE level.

Handwriting Club

Every Monday and Wednesday during tutor time, we run Handwriting sessions. These sessions are for students who feel they would like to improve their writing or have been highlighted by SENCO as needing additional support.
