Meet The Governors
"Brought up in Southampton I spent most of my working life as a teacher in Cornwall. I was a head teacher of a primary school in Bude on the North Cornwall coast. I was also a Local Authority advisor for assessment and spent ten years as an Ofsted inspector. Before joining Redbridge governing body In was chair of governors of a primary school. I am married with three grown up children and six grand children."
David Whalley
Chair of Governing Body
"I have been a parent governor at Redbridge since January 2015 where I was previously a member of the Senior Management team for 3 years. Prior to my appointment as Assistant Head I was Head of Department for Science for 22 years. During my time at Redbridge I have been involved in most of the developments which have resulted in 5 Outstanding Ofsted awards."
Wendy Stokes
Governor
"I am Headteacher at a local primary school which is within the Redbridge cluster. I have over twenty years of experience working in education and have been a governor in three different schools. I am passionate about offering the best education possible for children living in our community and feel like I have a wide range of expertise to offer. I am keen to further support transition between primary and secondary schools."
Karen Mellor
Governor
"I’m a parent of two children attending Redbridge. I work as a children’s nurse and previously worked as a librarian at an Academic Library. I became a governor as I am passionate about young people’s health, well-being and education. In my spare time I love walking and weight lifting. I’m also an animal lover and vegan."
