Yesterday, a group of students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Aldermoor Community Farm for a therapeutic gardening trip. The day was designed to support mindfulness, wellbeing, and hands-on learning in a natural environment.
Four students from R-bridge, who have already been involved in gardening projects in Lucy’s Garden and with the R-bridge planters, took part in the visit. During the day, they toured the farm, tasted wild fruits and leaves, sowed seeds, watered plants, and even helped by cutting and shredding branches.
The experience also included some special highlights – students toasted marshmallows over the fire, fed the chickens, and collected freshly laid eggs.
The trip was a great success, offering students the chance to connect with nature, develop new skills, and enjoy a calm and positive experience outside the classroom.
