Year 8, 9 and 10 Geography students were visited by Steven Fox a Hampshire Firefighter and member of the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR). He spoke about his teams experiences of being deployed to Turkey in February to help with the rescue effort after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit the country. He told the students about a 20 hour rescue to free two people trapped under a collapsed hotel several days after the earthquake.
