We are incredibly proud to share that Redbridge Community School has been appointed as a Lead School for Music as part of the South Coast Music Partnership (SCMP), joining a prestigious Network of Excellence for music education across the region.
Following a detailed application process and school visit by the SCMP Leadership Team, Redbridge was selected as a joint secondary Lead School for Southampton, alongside Upper Shirley High School. The team was particularly impressed by the diversity, quality, and enthusiasm for music-making at Redbridge, as well as the dedication of our staff and the passion of our students.
As a Lead School, Redbridge will now support and mentor other schools across the region, working closely with the music hub to shape and strengthen a programme of high-quality, inclusive music education for all young people.
This appointment is part of a national initiative, with 43 music hubs across England selecting Lead Schools to support a stronger, more connected music education network.
We extend our congratulations to all the other appointed schools across the South Coast, and our thanks to SCMP for recognising the vibrant musical life here at Redbridge.
