Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health and/or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.
At Redbridge Community School we ensure that we are up to date with all statutory and non statutory DfE and Government guidance in order to ensure that our students are adequately safeguarded.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and therefore all school employees and volunteers are subject to background checks which includes an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Details are recorded on our Single Central Register (SCR) which is audited and checked by an Independent body – Educational Personnel Services.
