Year 7


Year 7 start by studying the evolution of mankind and life in Ancient Britain, from the Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age, moving on to study many themes in medieval British history from the Norman invasion in 1066 to the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485. Highlights of the course include the Black Death, the murder of Thomas Beckett and the signing of the Magna Carta.


Year 8


Year 8 start off by studying the Tudors, comparing the reigns of both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, then sweep through the early modern era and twentieth century, focussing on the English Civil War, the Industrial Revolution, Jack the Ripper, the sinking of the Titanic and the First and Second World Wars.

Year 9


We start our OCR GCSE course in Year 9, focusing on our development study ‘Crime and Punishment through the ages’. Students will the study the evolution and key events pertaining to the changing character of crime and punishment from the Roman age to the present day.
